I've read a few of your articles over the last month or so and like a lot of your ideas. My favorite is to record 30 minutes of improvising. I still haven't tried it but I see the value of it.
As for these beginning tips I like everything you say here. Your advice to document an existing song is good. However, for an absolute beginner that may not be enough explanation. I understand what you mean but I've been playing for years and have written a few songs and done arranging, etc. So, I know that there's a verse, chorus, bridge, etc. in songs and what those structures mean. Perhaps you could add a link to the documenting tip that goes to an article that explains what you mean by "documenting"
