Remarks

by Moravia "MoKeyz" Latortue, III
(Storrs, CT 06268)

Hi my name is Moravia and I'm a self-taught pianist. I agree with everything that you have written. I, too, hear music in my head and I am fortunately able to just play what my mind hears. Because of this sometimes I can start like three songs a t a time or maybe even finish a song that I had been writing previously.

The key concept of music is creativity, so regardless of what is supposed to be done in a piece regarding musical theory, most songs come from trying a chord progression or putting chords together haven't been put together or voicing certain chords differently than you would normally.

Equally important theory cannot teach you everything there is to know about chords and their inversions. You learn a lot of this stuff by playing other people's music and emulating.
